They manage above ground containers and other assets for their customers and are responsible for emptying these containers when they are full. The client saw the need to be more proactively informed of when the containers will be reaching capacity. Thus, striving to make their process more efficient and environmentally friendly by reducing unnecessary trips and preventing littering due to overfilled containers.

The 4786 StreamLine LoRa Laser Distance Sensor was employed to detect the amount of waste inside the container and transmit the information to the client’s server through the LoRa network. The pickup vehicles are fitted with StreamLine modules that can track the vehicle and pickup a BLE signal from the 4786 StreamLine LoRa Laser Distance Sensor. This way a complete waste management solution is created by integrating smart bins, truck drivers and back-office. Pick-up, maintenance scheduling and invoicing process are more transparent and efficient reducing pressure on planning. Thanks to the use of a total IoT-solution, more and more business assets can be followed and monitored in real time in an economical way.
